Kids With Goals (KWG) is proud to introduce a major new initiative for the upcoming Fall season: the creation of our U8 Girls Development Team. This team represents the beginning of a long‑term pathway designed to support young female athletes as they grow through the program and ultimately compete at the high school level.
Our Long‑Term Vision
This team is not a one‑season project. It is the foundation of a multi‑year development plan that will guide players from their earliest stages of soccer through advanced recreational play. Our goal is to build a group of girls who grow together, learn together, and stay together—forming the core of a future high‑level recreational team.
Because of this, we are asking families to join with the understanding that this is a long‑term commitment. Player development takes time, consistency, and patience. We want parents who are ready to support their child’s growth season after season and who understand the value of staying the course.
Practice Location
While this team is open to families from all cities, all practices will be held at our College Park location. This ensures consistency, stability, and a central training environment for the entire group.
Families should register only if they are able to commit to regular attendance at the College Park practice site.
Program Focus
At the U8 level, our priorities include:
- Technical development
- Ball mastery, coordination, balance, and agility
- Confidence building
- Through positive coaching and age‑appropriate challenges
- Team culture
- Sportsmanship, discipline, and respect
- Game understanding
- Through small‑sided play and guided decision‑making
- A fun, supportive environment
- Where girls feel empowered to grow
This team will train consistently and participate in league play appropriate for their age and development stage.
Player Capacity
To maintain a high‑quality developmental environment, the U8 Girls Development Team will be capped at 22 players. This ensures small training groups, individualized attention, and a strong team identity.
